We got to meet our friend's sweet little baby while in MA for Thanksgiving. Here is Wyatt's depiction of baby Nora:
And here is why we love Thanksgiving. Our very enthusiastic family!
No trip to Old Lyme is complete with out a trip to the beach!

We were actually busy little bees this summer, building and remodeling. We decided after visiting cousins over the forth that a swing set/ fort would be a lot of fun. And of course we decided to try to build one ourselves...how hard could it be? It is fun to go up there and view the neighborhood from a perch! There are plans for a climbing wall for the future.

A Beautiful day for a beautiful wedding for a beautiful couple. Congrats!
Check out the cornhole game Todd built and painted for the lawn games. I weighed and sewed (to make sure they were within regulations!) 16 bags filled with corn! Wyatt is wearing a suit his Uncle Matt wore when he was a little lad. The Harmer's lawn was "Flocked" the night before the wedding...what a great girlscout fundraiser! The wedding reception was totally charming; wheat grass and pinks and candy and cupcakes.
Carol and Jason had a great relaxing wedding weekend. We visited the Rochester Lilac festival (I loved the Magnolias!) and played with the kids before the big day. I wanted a great photo of myself and the boys for mother's day I like this one of use in the tree.

My sister-in-law makes fun of blogging, so I hesitate to document her wedding shower, but alas I really enjoyed the preparations and creations for the day, so Carol you are being blogged. I made the invitations and printed them on Paper Source Stock and used a strip of the PS flora and fauna decorative paper to wrap the middle third and finished the wrapping with a thin pink bow. The day was hosted by Carol's aunt and it was a beautiful tea party with delicate yummy food.

My dear friend Nancy has been working on a sweater for our little Oliver since June and she finished it and it is gorgeous! A lovely sage, with the softest woolen yarn and beautiful details. I am still a novice knitter, so I really appreciate the love and care that goes into a handknit piece.
Thank you so much Nancy.

So Wyatt was being a doggie this morning before school, it took a little coaxing to convince him to walk on his hind legs to the car (he did make a few snowy 4 legged steps!) and I told him he could be a doggie when he got to school. So as soon as his jacket was off, he was a doggie, running on all fours to find a special toy. And then he got self conscious. I could see he felt the other kids looking at him and was not sure he wanted to continue with this play. I found it profoundly sad that he was concerned what the other kids thought. How do you encourage kids to keep being themselves and be creative while around others?

We went to visit Babci and Dziadzia's (my late grandparent's) house and I took a bunch of photos. While we were there, it felt like Babci and Dziadzia were going to stick there heads around the corner and tell us to "sit down and stay awhile". It was strange to be there without them. I tried to breath in just a little more of them, I have always loved the musty woody smell of their basement and I opened the linen closet and I smelled the same towels they would send us down to the pool with. As I was putting together the photos it became very clear that they are no longer at there, the photos, individually bring back happy memories, but when put together have a sad empty tone. Babci and Dziadzia's home is transforming into a house.
